Like many other travel businesses, Expert Africa felt the weight of the pandemic. After losing their group financial controller due to Covid-19, they realised that systems were not in place to produce robust financial projections. The impact of Covid-19 meant that they needed to simplify the group’s financial structures quickly. Alongside its parent company, Expert Africa’s Managing Director, Chris McIntyre, engaged TTC in August 2020 to help the businesses navigate through the pandemic.
TTC stepped in to provide hands-on financial director level support. We provided oversight to the internal finance team and assisted with producing the group’s crucial financial and regulatory reporting.
We built a comprehensive and flexible financial model to provide reliable group projections and the tools to manage liquidity in a fast-changing environment. The TTC finance team also fronted negotiations with various regulators and had good success in agreeing practical solutions.
In addition to modelling, reporting and regulatory advice, we provided strategic support across the group. TTC advised the senior management team throughout the pandemic and continue to attend all board meetings.
TTC took the lead on putting vital financial models in place, overseeing the smooth production of regulatory reports and helped some of the group to successfully restructure. We helped the senior team navigate the uncertainty of Covid and continue to provide the Sunvil Group with strategic advice and ongoing finance support, together with practical recommendations to streamline financial operations and processes.
