UPDATE: The CAA has announced that the Refund Credit Note scheme is ending at midnight on 19 December 2021. After this date no new ATOL protected RCNs will be allowed to be issued. RCNs issued between 10 March 2020 and 19 December 2021 will remain unaffected by this change.

Due to the ongoing travel restrictions, the CAA has extended the deadline for issuing Refund Credit Notes (RCNs). All valid Refund Credit Notes will benefit from ATOL protection until 30 September 2022. The period for firms to issue new RCNs has also been extended, and will apply indefinitely until further notice. The Air Travel Trust will provide at least one month’s advance notice of the scheme coming to an end.
