Trust.

It’s so important because it underpins our entire sector.

Consumers will only put their trust in a system, and part with their hard-earned cash if they trust the companies operating in it, and they trust the institutions that regulate and control them.

So after all the challenges in the last 15 months, how does our industry restore consumer trust, and address the deficiencies in our financial protection system, that have been highlighted and laid bare by the pandemic?

At this year’s ABTA Travel Matters conference,  TTC hosted a panel discussion exploring this question, along with three senior travel industry leaders:

– Garry Wilson, CEO of easyJet Holidays
– Julia Lo Bue Said, CEO of Advantage Travel Partnership, and tireless campaigner for government support, and
– John de Vial former head of ABTA’s Financial Protection division, and now a Special Adviser to ABTA’s Chief Executive.

We also hosted a workshop looking at the four most pressing financial and regulatory challenges facing travel business owners today. The TTC team drew on experience and insights from our work with over 200 travel companies, to provide tactics and practical suggestions for the audience. During the event, we collected insights about the operational challenges businesses have faced over the last 15 months of the COVID-19 pandemic and their plans for the months ahead. View what they told us here.

If you registered for the event but missed our panel or workshop, you can rewatch it via the ABTA Travel Matters portal here. The slides are available below.
